I have to agree with you that 1966 certainly was a turning point for British film, particularly with regards to the Swinging London films. I have always thought of Blow-Up as the quintessential Swinging London film myself--I guess it took an outsider (Michelangelo Antonioni) to truly capture that time and place. I also love Alfie and Georgy Girl. I remember being shocked when I first saw them, as abortion would not be legal in the UK until the Abortion Act of 1967. I also want to say that I adore The Wrong Box. If I made a list of my favourite British films of 1966, it might well come in at no. 2 (Blow-Up being at number one). Very well done blog post. I enjoyed it very much!Terence Towles Canotehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18397088843628331615noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5948739588539601820.post-60783206383189101812017-08-06T07:25:06.731-07:002017-08-06T07:25:06.731-07:00Thanks for the history lesson, the walk down memor...Thanks for the history lesson, the walk down memory lane, and the ideas that will colour my next viewing of many of these films.Caftan Womanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05936895555808823221noreply@blogger.com
